Leni Kae is an Australian contemporary artist and illustrator based in Sydney's Inner West. Her artworks have been exhibited across New York, London, Varese, Bologna, Barcelona, Florence as well as locally across Australia. In 2019, her art has been selected for the Kennedy Prize Foundations Choice Exhibition, and has been a finalist in the George's River Art Prize, Du Reitz Awards, Mornington Peninsula Landscape Prize, Dean Cogle Portrait Prize, Southern Bouy Portrait Prize and Lethbridge Small Art Prize. As an illustrator, her works usually involve black and white design with greyscale toning, or bold colour with a whimsical element, coupled with flowing and intricate linework. She is known for illustrating female subjects, often portrayed with long flowing hair; and animal subjects with illustrations exploring an emotional connection to the spirit of the animal.
Current Projects:
The Sydney children's book illustrator has recently illustrated "Year of the Dragon" for the Sydney Jewish Museum, released in September 2019. It features a colour cover and beautiful black-and-white vitage style line illustrations for the story. She is also currently working on writing and illustrating an adult colouring-in book, as well as a range of children's books.
Leni is available for freelance illustration jobs and commissions including: children's book illustrator, textile design, magazine illustration, interior design artworks, custom artworks and illustrations for personal or commercial use.
