Alan Hawkins

My name is Alan Hawkins and I am a budding illustrator who enjoys delving into a self-made fantasy world of human, animal and otherworldly characters.

​Working primarily in watercolour and gouache, with a touch of digital polish, my style is surreal, energetic and richly detailed. My illustrations explore mostly fantasy and science fiction themes, though I have illustrated children’s literature.

​I have both a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (majoring in painting) and an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design which I studied in Melbourne, Australia. I have also completed a 15-week illustration course at Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm, Sweden, where I lived for two years.

I reside in Melbourne, Australia with my wonderfully supportive wife, and my two young sons.
