Alex Hotchin is an artist and print maker currently living on a small farm in Queensland, Australia. She is focused on creating work through careful and curious observation of places, spaces, living things, and momentary experiences. Working across a variety of media, Alex’s art focuses on the principals of story telling by capturing detailed moments of wonder and amazement. The need to explore and observe can be felt in her art making, with an attention to detail resinating through her small pieces, and in her larger scaled commissioned work. Alex has a particular interest in the art of making maps, and loves how much can be learned from the experiences associated with exploration, and then turning these into a layered story.
Alex's artwork has been exhibited in Melbourne, Istanbul, New York and Sefrou, Morocco and Nozawa, Japan.
