I've drawn pictures as long as I can remember. In Grade 2, Mrs Knack eventually asked if I had anything other than my pictures to bring for Show & Tell. These days I'm living in Melbourne and working as an illustrator... and I still like showing people my pictures. Sorry Mrs Knack. In the 90s I completed a bachelor degree in Visual Arts at James Cook University, majoring in illustration. I love the process of figuring out how to summarise a narrative with a single image - particularly when the subject is satirical, fantastical, or horrific. I often mix traditional, hand-made content with a bit of digital colouring or tweaking. I'm partial to pencils and brushed acrylics, but have happily worked with airbrush, oils, pastels, spray cans, charcoal, ballpoint - whatever seems right for the job. In 2015 Illustrators Australia gave me a silver award for my beer label illustration, The Cavalier Catfish, for which I'm entirely chuffed. More of my work can be seen at The Crank Institute website, Instagram, or my Redbubble shop.
