Luke Spindler

My mum named me Luke. Now that I’m a full grown man child everyone else calls me Larry. I’m an illustrator living on the sunny northern beaches of Sydney.

Ever since I first discovered I had opposable thumbs I have wanted to be a ‘drawer’. As a little kid I fell in love with the illustrations in the picture books I would read over and over again. As moody a teenager I was obsessed with the counter culture art that filled the surf and skate scene of the 90s.

Now as a much older (and hairier) illustrator, my inner child and teenager still battle it out for dominance over my creative style. One day I’m lost creating a warm fantasy world from the children’s books that Luke loved as a child, and the next I’m styling a post apocalyptic zombie surfer plucked from Larry’s warped imagination. Either way its loads of fun to feed the creative beast inside.
