Sonia Kretschmar

Sonia is a well established illustrator/artist/animator/teacher based in Melbourne. Clients have included Penguin Books, Walker Books, Harper Collins, Rolling Stone, SBS and the ABC amongst many others. Her work was featured on the 2015 'Traditional Christmas' stamp issue for Australia Post, which went on to win the prestigious 'San Gabriele Philatelic Prize' in Italy. She has illustrated two hard cover picture books: “Song of the Dove” written by Errol Broome (Walker Books, 2011) and “Do Not Forget Australia”, written by Sally Murphy (Walker Books, 2012) and has just completed an illustrated novel: 'Whimsy and Woe' written by Rebecca McRitchie (Harper Collins, Sept 2017). She was also shortlisted for the 2011 Archibald portrait prize and is represented by the Jacky Winter Group.
