Client Menu Bar
You will see across the top left of each page is a grey menu bar – this hosts everything you need as a client or potential client. It will help you navigate this website. The grey menu bar includes this Client Resources Page (which you are on), and your stored Favourites and Saved artworks and artists.
Portfolio Organisation
You now have various ways of viewing the portfolios. By default they are ordered randomly (rather then alphabetically) but you can toggle to chose either option – simply use the toggle on the top right. You can also choose to see the portfolios, in classic format, as a list, or as ‘cards’ with a sample of the bio too.
Profiles now feature membership level, length of membership and the country of residence, (at publishers’ request).
Stars and Favourites
We have designed a new feature specially for clients. We now provide a free account for publishers, editors, authors, creative directors, designers, or anyone browsing the website. If you’d like to keep track of your favourite works and artists. You can ‘star’ and ‘save’ favourite artwork and artists and make lists too!
- ‘Star’ – while browsing artworks you will see a small star in the top right-hand corner (or left-hand corner in expanded view).
- ‘Save’ – when on an artists profile you can save the artist by using the save button in the top right-hand side of their profile.
- Just click the star or the save buttons and you will be promoted to start a free account to save your favourites.
Make a Free Client Account
- Just add your email address – that’s all you need to do for now (later you can fill out more details).
- You can now ‘star’ artworks, save your favourite artists, create lists of artists for particular projects or styles.
You’ll be prompted to create a free account the first time you favourite an image or save an artist while signed out — just enter your email address to get started. You can view and manage everything you’ve saved any time from the Favourites page.
This is a private liking process, available to anyone using the site, but viewable to no one else, (we may collect the data to share with artists their most popular artworks etc.)
Categories and Tags
Artists can attribute various categories to their portfolios. See the list below. These are broad categories for different types of work, mediums and styles.
Artists also tag their individual artwork with labels. For example an artist might add tags such as ‘dog’, ‘sketch’ and ‘charcoal’ to an artwork.
You can now use the Advanced Search feature to look for very specific subject matter, mediums and styles. Please note this is a ‘fuzzy’ search so you don’t have to match the words the artist chose exactly, eg watercolour, watercolour and water-colour will all create the same results.
Artists can add a title and description to their artworks too. These are also searchable now, as well as our articles, newsletters and blog pages.
Copyright Note
The artists retain their copyright, in accordance with Australian Copyright law. The artworks on the Illustrators Australia website can not be used, copied, feed into AI, published, reproduced or distributed without explicit agreement from the artist.
