Our Committee and Volunteers

Meet the committee steering the organisation this year. See how you can get involved too.

Our committee is made up of working illustrators just like you, members who give their own time to help run the organisation.

Illustrators Australia depends on the generous, skilful, collaborative and resourceful nature of its members. We learn from each other and build on the efforts of committees of the past to solidify and grow. Over the decades since its formation it has boasted wonderful illustrators at its helm.

Perhaps one day you will take your turn?

Meet the current committee below and see what volunteer roles are open right now. Even if you only have an hour or two a month, we're always looking for more members to come onboard! It takes a lot of effort and people to deliver what we do with more people involved we can do even more.

If you want to see something happen, join us and help make it happen! We always need plenty of volunteers as well as all our committee members.

Our committee meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm. All meetings are via video call and members come from all over the country to join in. We welcome members to come along to committee meetings and see how they are run. Contact us to find out more.

Each year we hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) open to all members, in which our members can nominate and vote for the incoming committee*. We follow the Model Rules for an Incorporated Association. All the committee roles are unpaid and voluntary.

Who runs Illustrators Australia?

Illustrators Australia is run by a dedicated volunteer committee of working illustrators, elected by our membership every year.

Help us shape the future of the Illustrators Australia website as one of our Website Reviewers.

You’ll try out new and updated features on the website before they go live. Test it out and tell us what’s working, and what could be improved. We need the perspectives of a diverse range of website visitors, especially if you have a disability or English is your second language. We would love to know the challenges and what is working too.

Whether you’re a member or you come here to hire artists, we would love to hear your experience using our website.

No technical background needed — if you can browse a website and tell us honestly what you think – you’re qualified. Although if you have web design, graphic design, publishing or copyrighting and proof-reading experience that would help. All you need to do is review the pages and functions of our website and send us some notes, (even record a video) and tell us what you found.

This is a great low-commitment way to get involved and have a direct say in the direction of Illustrators Australia’s online presence. This position is not remunerated, but all the members will benefit. Plus we will feature you on the Home page of our website for the month and thank you in our Newsletter and Bulletin.

We anticipate needing testers in early December 2026 and in March 2027 as more updates rollout.
